Bank of Ireland needed an entertaining and engaging way to educate employees on manual handling in the workplace. AV Edge delivered a programme that used a humorous device to highlight the need for vigilance and a safety culture among everyone in the workplace. The premise of this video is that a common sense practical approach to safety in the workplace combined with a proactive management approach is the best way to achieve safety in the workplace. The video contrasts the perceived safety of the family home with that of the workplace environment using a long-suffering mother who continually removes hazards from the home. Also featured were simple explanations of the workings of the back and spinal column and safe lifting procedures. A printed wall guide to manual handling also accompanied the video.

Allied Irish Bank, were faced with a very particular problem, the need to provide a ‘flexible tool’ to educate, existing and potential customers, about their Treasury Products. AV Edge’s solution, an electronic, Learning Suite is a comprehensive CD-Rom guide to treasury products suitable for both newly appointed Treasury Managers or for the more experienced professional who is interested in learning the details of a particular treasury product feature. Explanations are accessed in a way that helps clients to ‘identify’ their treasury needs, rather than just trying to ‘guess’ what products are suitable for them and extensive graphics coupled with narration ‘walk’ users through all aspects of products.

GSK needed to develop a learning solution on tender processes and vaccine selling skills for distribution to sales and marketing staff worldwide. AV Edge worked with GSK to provide a blended solution combining an e-learning module with printed materials. The CD-ROM was developed so that it did not require plug-ins and therefore could be used by all staff. AV Edge transformed challenging statistical and numerical material into entertaining and engaging graphics and animations. As well as this, AV Edge produced, shot and edited a video on location to personalise the experience for GSK employees. Combining this with a simplified structure to facilitate navigation, AV Edge produced a blended solution that achieved all of GSK’s goals.
