This
12 part television series was broadcast on RTE 1 in Autumn 2000. It was commissioned
by the Department of Education and Science and the National Adult Literacy
Agency and delivered direct learning to adults with literacy difficulties
using drama and role play. Taking themes from everyday life situations the
programmes aimed to improve the reading and writing skills of adults, to build
self confidence among the target group and to raise awareness of literacy
issues to a general audience. AV Edge worked closely with the Department and
NALA and the series achieved very successful ratings.

Better, Faster looks at a range of issues confronting businesses all over Ireland
each day. The series was designed to highlight the innovation and insights which
many organisations have benefited from through the Adapt Human Resource Initiative
supported by the EU. Each half-hour programme includes between two and three
case studies which look at the changes different organisations have introduced
and who the people behind these changes are.The

Frigadoons
Currently in production this documentary will air on TG4 this Autumn.Frigadoons are the fancy stitches of Aran sweaters. The stitches reflect
the wild and rugged landscape of the Aran Islands the hard-won fields cultivated
with hand gathered sea-weed, the rough stone walls, the wild blackberry and
moss. The programme follows the progress of handknitting along our Western seaboard
ending in the exuberance of what we know today as Aran style knitting.

Pavee Voices
The aim
of this television programme and video is to highlight some of the issues
that young traveller men and women face. Working with Pavee Point, AV Edge
sought to bring out the positive aspects of being a traveller - the strong
family connections, the spirit of freedom which they cherish, as well as some
of the problems they face - such as discrimination and racism. "Young
Pavee Voices" will be broadcast in RTE's "Townlands" series
Summer 2001.
